Little Forest School on the Green news

Forest School

Our children have really grown to love our woods. Teachers and parents have been very impressed by how children have risen to the challenge of getting themselves ready including putting on their own Forest School clothing and wellies. Sandhill Wood Trustees have been very supportive of our Forest School and have provided logs for us to use as seating around our new fire circle. We are hoping to hold another Walk in the Woods session with parents soon.

Other news:

We do have our sister nursery school, Nonsuch Park Forest School within Nonsuch Park, Cheam and we are delighted to announce that we are opening a new nursery school on the opposite side of Nonsuch Park at London Lodge which will open in the Spring term of 2022.

Little forest school on the green:

The Autumn term is proving to be full of fun and learning. We have introduced our new children to the natural wonders of Sandhill Woods and enjoyed many activities such as den building, tree climbing and toasting many treats on our open fire. We have welcomed a number of forest school trainees from Surrey Early Years service who have helped our children safely use bow saws and potato peelers for whittling! We are looking forward to a visit from the fire service in November when we will learn about keeping safe during bonfire week. We will begin to prepare for our Christmas festivities and start to enjoy learning our words and songs for our traditional Christmas Nativity at the end of term.

We have a fantastic 'little friends social group' parent association, if you would like to get more involved with the pre-school please speak to one of the staff team.
